Pitts S-1 Special

Loops, rolls, spins, and a literally dizzying assortment of other maneuvers are the ultimate expression of flight in three dimensions. Pilots compete in contests of precision flying, and airshow pilots astonish crowds with seemingly impossible maneuvers, but many pilots just enjoy aerobatics for fun. As in every aspect of aviation, safety is paramount. The aircraft are meticulously maintained, contests are carefully regulated, pilots wear parachutes and two sets of seatbelts, and wild or careless flying is not tolerated. The sprightly Pitts Special dominated aerobatic competition for more than 30 years, and is still very popular today.
