Serious Fun: A Grownup’s Model Airplanes
Denver pilot and model-maker Fritz Howard built large-scale model aircraft of exquisite detail and realism. Flight control surfaces operate from the stick and rudder pedals in the cockpit, landing gear retracts or extends using a tiny crank in the cockpit, and cowlings open to reveal minutely detailed engines! Many of his models are displayed in the world’s top aerospace museums, but Wings Over the Rockies has the largest collection in the world of Fritz Howard models.
Join Wings Over the Rockies Exploration of Flight for monthly fly-ins featuring planes, pilots and breakfast!
On the first Saturday of every month*, enjoy breakfast from a local food truck, watch aircraft fly in and explore interactive exhibits and simulators.
Pilots – Fly in for free breakfast! For tie-down space, contact Flight@WingsMuseum.org or 303.360.5360 ext 160.
