North American F-86H Sabre

North American F-86H Sabre

The F-86H Sabre was produced during the mid-1950s as a fighter-bomber hybrid. Equipped with low altitude bombing equipment and the ability to carry an atomic bomb, the F-86H showed potential but was phased out of service in 1957 as other fighters rapidly surpassed its performance capabilities. Our F-86H began its career at George Air Force Base in April 1955. It was then deployed to numerous locations including Toul-Rosieres Air Base, France, and New York and Massachusetts. Serving most of its career at Suffolk County Air Force Base, New York the aircraft is painted in the scheme of the 52nd Fighter Wing.

Bring the whole family for a fun-filled holiday celebration at Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum.  Arrive as early as 9:30 a.m. to park and grab your spot outside under the B-52. Santa is scheduled to arrive by Helicopter between 10 a.m. and 10:15 a.m.  Festive activities, magical moments and memories await!
