Presented by former Lockheed Martin engineer Stephen Kelly, Colorado Aviation Part III will consider the development of commercial aviation from the early 1970s to the era of deregulation in the 1980s and beyond. Also covered by Mr. Kelly will be the bankruptcy and consolidation of some major airlines, the rapid growth of Stapleton airport, the growth of the area’s general aviation airports at Centennial, Front Range and Rocky Mountain, the building of DIA and the new ventures in general aviation in the 2010s. The first 40 minutes of the event will be lecture style, the final 20 minutes will be a walking tour around several Wings’ artifacts.
