Discover the early developments of aviation in Colorado as presented by former Lockheed Martin engineer Stephen Kelly. Starting from the early experiments of the Van Dersarl brothers in Denver & Aurora, to the establishment of Lowry Air Force Base, Mr. Kelly will lecture for 40 minutes and then spend 20 minutes leading a walking tour to highlight several museum artifacts including a 1929 Alexander Eaglerock biplane, Douglas B-18 Bolo Bomber and more.
This lecture will cover Colorado aviation developments up to World War II. Colorado aviation part II, which will be held later this year, will cover post WWII to present day.
The lecture will take place on Saturday, September 30th from 1:00 – 2:00 PM in our Harrison Ford Welcome Theater. Interested? Tickets will also give you entry into the museum for the day.
