Susan Heldman Joins Wings Over the Rockies™ as its Chief Financial Officer

Denver, CO (Nov. 19, 2024) – Wings Over the Rockies (Wings) is pleased to welcome Susan “Susy” Heldman as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Heldman has 30 years of financial management experience including not-for-profit leadership in administration, finance, operations and accounting. She worked in educational finance for seven years in the Bay Area, and in her last position she served for 21 years at Schwab Charitable, a national donor advised fund based in San Francisco, CA and Lone Tree, CO. Susy has held board positions with Mount Holyoke College, her alma mater, Calvary Presbyterian Foundation and the Daraja Education Fund.

“Susy is a dynamic leader with a proven history who brings leadership and administration, financial management and accounting for non-profits,” said President and CEO, Maj. Gen. John Barry, U.S. Air Force (Ret). “We look forward to her innovative ideas and fresh perspective.”

In her role as CFO, Heldman will oversee Wings’ finance, including accounting, financial planning and budgeting and auditing to support the organization’s strategic vision.

“My values mirror Wings Over the Rockies and I am excited to embark on this new role,” added Heldman. “I look forward to working collaboratively with the entire Wings team, from my new colleagues to the board, as well as external partners and stakeholders.”

Heldman earned her master’s degree from Middlebury Institute of International Studies and her bachelor’s degree from Mount Holyoke College.

Wings Over the Rockies™, a Colorado-based non-profit organization and Colorado’s official Air and Space Museum, is committed to educating, inspiring and exciting all people about aviation and space endeavors of the past, present and future.
