Denver, CO (Aug. 18, 2025) – Wings Over the Rockies (Wings) Air & Space Museum is proud to announce the appointment of Rachel Pearl Herman as its first Chief Experience Officer (CXO). In this senior leadership role, Herman, with more than a decade of experience in aerospace museums and science centers, will be focused on delivering dynamic, mission-aligned experiences that inspire curiosity and connection across both the Air & Space Museum in Lowry and the Exploration of Flight campus at Centennial Airport.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Rachel to our team,” said Marcus Harshaw, President and CEO of Wings. “Her deep expertise in museum collections, exhibit development, and strategic project management brings tremendous value to our organization. With a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and advancing sustainability efforts, Rachel is uniquely positioned to elevate our public programming and enhance the visitor experience through thoughtful curation and innovative planning.”
Most recently, she served as the Strategic Initiative Project Manager at Space Center Houston, where she led high priority, cross-departmental efforts to enhance the guest experience and advance institutional priorities. Prior to that, she was Director of Collections at the Lone Star Flight Museum in Houston, Texas.
Herman is committed to ensuring programs serve the broad and diverse needs of the community. Her passion has led her to form sustainability teams and spearhead engagement strategies through Cambio, a collaboration between museums and informal learning spaces across the country working to better serve local Latino/a/x communities.
“Wings Over the Rockies represents the best of what museums can be—dynamic spaces for learning, inspiration, and community connection,” said Herman. “I’m honored to join this incredible team and look forward to building partnerships that support our mission and expand access to aerospace programs, exhibits and education across Colorado.”
Herman holds a Master of Arts in Museum Studies from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts in History and Archaeology from the University of Texas.
