Book Synopsis:

In 1978, the USAF established what will forever be regarded as the greatest air-combat training squadron ever devised, and arguably, the best-kept secret of the Cold War—the 4477th Test and Evaluation Squadron. Audacious in concept, the decade-long operation of a squadron flying top-secret Soviet MiGs from a remote Nevada airfield is the stuff of legend.

About the Author:

  • Over his distinguished Air Force career, Rob flew many of America’s front-line fighters, including the F-4 Phantom, the F-5E as an Aggressor Pilot, and the F-15 Eagle as an Instructor and Mission Commander.
  • Z-Man’s firsthand experience with both U.S. and Soviet fighters offers a rare insider perspective on elite air-combat training and a hidden chapter of Cold War aviation history.
  • After retiring from the USAF, he continued flying for three decades as a pilot and International wide-body Captain with a major U.S. airline. He has logged more than 20,000 hours worldwide and is an FAA Airline Transport Pilot with type ratings in the Boeing 757, 767, and 777.
