Presentation: Aviation Archaeology

Join us for a presentation from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. about local aviation sites within driving distance of the Denver metro. Speaker Larry Liebrecht will provide an intriguing look at local crash sites and historical airports along the Front Range and across Colorado. Sites include the Front Range P-38/F-4 accident site from WW-II, cultural resource surveys on the Medicine Bow WY Airport (an original Intermediate Air Airfield of the  intercontinental US Air Way & Air Mail System) and the former La Junta (CO) Army Air Field.

Larry currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Colorado Aviation Historical Society assuming duties of public speaking, researcher and instructor in its Aviation Archaeology Program. He is a current restorations volunteer at Wings Over the Rockies™ since 2004 and has been involved in the study of conflict and historical archaeology since grade school.
