Scott McMillan is a 4th generation Colorado native who grew up in Applewood, Colorado. Scott has been in the air show business since 2003 when he joined the team that was producing the Rocky Mountain EAA Regional Fly-in. Scott served as the Vice President and Air Show Director for events and began acting as the Air Boss for the show in 2013. Since 2016, Scott has helped to organize and Air Boss several other aerial demonstrations and fly-bys throughout Colorado and for major airshows in Texas, South Dakota and Wyoming.
Scott currently holds an FAA Letter of Authorization as an Air Boss – Multi Venue, the highest level of certification offered by the FAA and one that only a few other in the business possess. In recognition for his service to the Air Show industry, Scott has received not one, but two coveted Platinum Pinnacle Awards from the International Council of Airshows.
Scott has been actively flying since 1981. Currently he works as a Flight Evaluator and Line Check Pilot for United Airlines. He also owns and regularly flies a Russian Yak-52. He is a current FAST formation instructor and check pilot for the Red Star Pilots Association and a current CFII-ME.
