Imagine the fun of hopping in your own helicopter to fly to school or work—or to a remote vacation spot! With their ability to take off and land almost anywhere, many people think of helicopters as ideal personal flying machines, but in reality they are complex, expensive, and noisy. This Rotorway Scorpion II is a nice example of the many personal helicopters built from kits starting in the late 1960s. Gene Chiesi completed this one in 1985.
