Meet Ninevah Delaney
Meet Ninevah Delaney, one of Wings’ Flight Training Scholarship recipients which is supported by the Ray Foundation. Ninevah shares her love for aviation and what she’s working to accomplish.
What inspired you to pursue a career in aviation?
When I was nine years old, I witnessed my first Thunderbird fly-over at the Air Force Academy graduation. Since that day, I have set my eyes and heart on the goal of becoming an aviator for the United States Air Force. Aviation is more than just a career interest to me – it is a passion. I believe that aviation is more than operating an aircraft through the sky. It is a gateway to new opportunities, knowledge, and freedom.
How has the Wings Flight Training Scholarship helped you move closer to your goals?
The Wings Flight Training Scholarship was the miracle that made it possible for me to turn my dream of obtaining a private pilot’s license into a reality. Not only has Wings Over the Rockies provided financial support towards my flight training, but they have introduced me to the incredible world of general aviation. Through their wingman mentorship program I have had the honor to learn from countless inspiring aviators that have come before me. The Wings Over the Rockies Flight Training Scholarship has truly widened the horizons of my life and I will forever be grateful.
What are your future aspirations in aviation, and how do you plan to continue your training or education?
My future aspiration in aviation is to become a military aviator. I would like to become a fighter pilot with a mission focus of close air support and joint force operations. I will be attending the Colorado School of Mines this fall. I plan to fly all throughout college to maintain proficiency and continue to master the incredible art of flying. Upon graduation from the Colorado School of Mines, I plan to commission as an officer into the U.S. Air Force through officer training school. I cannot express how excited I am to see what the future of aviation holds.
