Journey to the Edge of Aerospace in Season 5 of Wings Over the Rockies™ Behind the Wings® TV Series

Denver, CO (Oct. 24, 2023) – Wings Over the Rockies (Wings) will premiere Season 5 of their television series Behind the Wings on Rocky Mountain PBS on Thursday, November 2 at 7:30 p.m. MDT. Additional episodes air at 7:30 p.m. MDT on consecutive Thursdays in November including 11/9, 11/16 and 11/23.

Season 5, a four-episode season, funded in part by the Raytheon Company, showcases the captivating stories of drones changing the future of transportation, Artemis crewed missions to the moon, time travel with the James Webb Space Telescope and an up-close look at the world’s most advanced fighter aircraft, the F-35 Lightning II.

Each 30-minute episode in Season 5 has a unique aerospace focus:

  • Episode 1 (11/2): How Drones and eVTOL are Changing the World: From medical deliveries to flying taxis, autonomous drones are changing the future of transportation.
  • Episode 2 (11/9): Design, Deploy, Discover: The James Webb Space Telescope: Time travel is now possible with the James Webb Space Telescope, as we explore distant worlds and our own solar system in ways never seen before.
  • Episode 3 (11/16): The F-35 Lightning II: From concept to combat, get an inside look at how the F-35 is built and deployed operationally.
  • Episode 4 (11/23): The Moon, to Stay: Explores the training, spacecraft and people behind the first NASA Artemis crewed mission, Artemis II.

Since its inception in 2017, Behind the Wings has amassed over 25 million lifetime views on YouTube from all over the world and has aired in over 100 PBS markets across the US.
