Tuskegee Airmen Exhibit Coming to Wings Over the Rockies™

Discover the history and legacy of the Tuskegee Airman for a limited time only

Denver, CO (Feb. 9, 2022) – Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum™ (Wings), located in the historic Lowry district of Denver, is thrilled to announce the upcoming arrival of the Commemorative Air Force® (CAF) RISE ABOVE® Traveling Exhibit. In honor of Black History Month, the unique tribute to the Tuskegee Airmen will be at the museum from Feb. 23-26, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. daily.

The Tuskegee Airmen were the first Black military aviators in the US Army Air Corps (AAC), a precursor of the US Air Force, and forerunners of desegregation in the US military. The CAF RISE ABOVE exhibit is an opportunity for the young and the young-at-heart to learn the inspiring story of the Tuskegee Airmen through a compelling original short film, housed in a 53’ semi-trailer. Filmed with a 180-degree lens along with the state-of-the-art theater design, the movie experience gives attendees the feeling they are actually flying.

“We offer a truly one-of-a-kind adventure that resonates with all ages,” said CAF Red Tail Squadron Leader and pilot Doug Rozendaal. “It’s much more than a history lesson. The Tuskegee Airmen’s ability to Triumph Over Adversity® inspires others to RISE ABOVE obstacles in their own lives and achieve their goals.”

The CAF RISE ABOVE exhibit is included in museum admission. Visit WingsMuseum.org/RiseAbove to learn more and pre-purchase tickets.
