Wings Over The Rockies® Sponsors 9News Honor Flight Telethon to Support Colorado Veterans

DENVER, CO (March 9, 2026) — Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum (Wings) announced today they will serve as a sponsor of the 2026 9NEWS Honor Flight Telethon, which will be held on April 9, 2026. This will support Rocky Mountain Honor Flight’s mission to send Colorado veterans to Washington, D.C., to visit the memorials dedicated to their service and sacrifice. This year’s sponsorship was made possible through the generosity of Alpine Bank, which contributed $10,000 to fund Wings’ participation in the telethon.

“Supporting Honor Flight aligns perfectly with our mission to inspire, educate, and connect people with the spirit of flight,” said David Dickerson, President & CEO of Wings Over the Rockies. “And there is no greater embodiment of that spirit than the veterans who served our nation. We’re honored and very proud to help ensure more Colorado veterans have the opportunity to experience the powerful journey Honor Flights program makes possible.”

The event, supporting Flight #54, raises money for these free trips for veterans, which are funded entirely by private donations raises funds to send veterans on a two-day trip to Washington, D.C., where they visit the World War II Memorial, the Navy Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, and other significant sites. Rocky Mountain Honor Flight is a 501(c)3 non-profit that relies on donations to fly veterans, primarily focusing on World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War veterans.
