Take your passion for aviation to new heights in this hands-on beginner photography class! Whether you’re a budding photographer or just getting started, this class will teach you the essential skills needed to capture the beauty, power and precision of aircraft on camera. This class is for ages 16+.

Through expert guidance, you’ll learn how to frame your shots, adjust settings for optimal clarity and capture stunning images of aircraft on the ground. Explore the fascinating world of aviation through the lens, with practical tips on lighting, composition and camera settings specifically tailored for aviation photography. Join us to unlock the skies through your camera, and leave with a new set of skills, stunning photos and a deeper appreciation for aviation history.

We encourage participants to bring your own cameras, though smartphone cameras are perfectly fine as well. Wings is not responsible for lost or stolen cameras.

Class Schedule:
12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.: Instruction in the classroom
1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.: Hands-on experience with static aircraft

Instructor: Steve Byers

Steven Byers has been working in photography for over 25 years, with the past 20 years focused on aviation photography. His photographs have been published in brochures, airshow programs and displayed in corporate flight departments and local businesses in the Denver area, including the Douglas County Legacy Campus. Byers has been flying professionally for 30 years as a pilot with experience in various roles, including flight instructor, cargo pilot, corporate pilot and now at a major airline.
