Presentation from Barbara Adams

What has NASA done for you today?

Join us at 11:00 a.m. to hear from Barbara Adams, NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory Ambassador. Did you know that NASA and space exploration has significantly enriched our lives? We have so many products and technologies far beyond Tang and spacesuits. The benefits are making an impact worldwide in better health and medicine, transportation, public safety, consumer products, computer technology, environmental and agricultural resources and industrial activity. In the last year alone, we’ve experienced over 50 major changes in our lives that help us and our planet stay healthier and happier! Dr. Adams will also be discussing what NASA has done in 2023 and let you try some space age food. Some NASA handouts will be available, including information about opportunities for students to work at the Jet Propulsion Lab in Pasadena, California.

Barbara Adams has a PhD in Neuroscience/Psychology and career experience in research science at the University of Arizona in the fields of research in oncology, gastrointestinal, women’s health, HIV, cardiovascular and Alzheimer’s Disease. Her awards include the Congressional Medal of Distinction, Business Woman of the year for 2006 and 2007, Senatorial Inner Circle Commission and the Jeanette Holm Aerospace Education award. She is currently the Rocky Mt. Region Coordinator for the Solar Eclipse scientific data derived from North America to be sent to Goddard and NASA.
