Air & Space Museum
Wright Brothers Exhibit
Our recently upgraded Wright Brothers Exhibit is now open!
The exhibit includes an enhanced Wright Flyer simulator, a propeller signed by Orville Wright and new displays. Explore the legacy and delve into the innovative minds and groundbreaking experiments that revolutionized air travel forever. Discover the trials, triumphs and the unparalleled vision that propelled the Wright Brothers to greatness.
When Orville Wright sold the Wright Company in 1915, factory workers were allowed to take a souvenir, and one man took this Model K seaplane propeller. In 1944, he and his son visited Orville Wright and asked him to sign the propeller. The National Aviation Hall of Fame purchased the propeller, and it has been displayed in several museums, including the National Air and Space Museum. The propeller is on loan from the National Aviation Hall of Fame.
This exhibit is included in the price of museum admission. This enhanced exhibit is made possible by The Bates Family Foundation.

Speaker Series | The Berlin Airlift and You
What possible effect could a military airlift 75 years ago in Germany have on you today? Find out and join us in the Harrison Ford Theater to hear a Speaker Series presentation from Wings’ Curator Chuck Stout.
Whether you ride in an airliner, fly your own airplane, or never go near an airport, the amazing developments pioneered during the Berlin Airlift affect you every day. The enormous amount of food, fuel and other basics needed to sustain a city of two million people required a massive shift in thinking about how aircraft were flown, scheduled and maintained. These ideas transformed civilian air travel, improved air safety and found their way into solving the logistics problems for any organization that moves large amounts of cargo from one place to another.
